Children throughout the world need help and
Jesus even commissioned us to take care of the little ones.
Compassion International is a
Christian child sponsorship organization that reaches out to children in
need throughout the world. Please visit them and see if you can help out
in some way. There are no contracts to sign and you can stop giving at any

The mission of St. Michael
is to go and
make disciples, trusting the Lord is with us.
This means to reach souls for
Christ for teaching,
preaching and living the word of God.
Each member is
an important part of the body of Christ,
moved by God's love to commit one's
time,
talent and treasures.

Application
of Sixth Commandment
This
again brings up the
question of what can
we, individually do
for the lives of
those around us. Do
you know someone who
is pregnant and is
considering an
abortion. What can
you do to not only
stop her, but help
her? Or do you know
some one who doesn't
even have enough
material goods to
live, what can you
do to help out? What
are some practical
ways that you can
provide life,
instead of taking
it?
The
command to not
murder can then be
turned around to a
call to give life.
And if we are truly
loving God and
others, then we will
be concerned about
helping them find
life, true life. And
that life can only
be found in
relationship with
Christ. It isn't
enough then to avoid
the wrong taking of
life. It isn't
enough to save life.
But we must also
ask: Are we valuing
life, and striving
to enhance it? In
this way, we can
apply the sixth
commandment.
"You
shall not
murder." for
"Everyone who
hates his brother is
a murderer; and you
know that no
murderer has eternal
life abiding in him.
We know love by
this, that He laid
down His life for
us; and we ought to
lay down our lives
for the brethren.
But whoever has the
world's goods, and
beholds his brother
in need and closes
his heart against
him, how does the
love of God abide in
him?" For Jesus
tells us of the
King, the Father who
said; "'For I
was hungry, and you
gave Me something to
eat; I was thirsty,
and you gave Me
drink; I was a
stranger, and you
invited Me in;
naked, and you
clothed Me; I was
sick, and you
visited Me; I was in
prison and you came
to Me.' ... 'Truly I
say to you, to the
extent that you did
it to one of these
brothers of Mine,
even the least of
them, you did it to
Me.'" May we do
it to Him. (Exodus
20:13; 1 John
3:15-17; Matthew 25:
35, 36, 40).
